We decided to take a Lake Cruise.
So after securing tickets, we ventured to Heidi's for breakfast. This was was one of those old fashioned US diners which served up massive heart attack inducing breakfasts. Lovely.
We then set off for a wee run in the car up the other side of the Lake to the viewpoint at Emerald Bay. This gave us a good overview of this area of Lake Tahoe. Lots of cabins and houses on the lake - which must be second homes for the well heeled. Beautiful views once again.
We came back to the hotel to get ready for the Tahoe Queen as we has to be there at 1pm. We walked along the beach to the boat which was an old fashioned (though not old) paddle steamer. After the obligatory photo before boarding, we found seats on the top deck and enjoyed a lovely cruise to Emerald Bay and back - taking around 2 and a half hours. The ship was busy and the captain was a bit of a character.
When we got back we went to Chevy's for a wee later afternoon drink and pigged out on nachos and lovely salsa. A very pleasant hour or so was spent there before heading back to the hotel.
After a wee break we decided to return to Chevy's for evening and were not disappointed. Although quiet, the barman was very attentive and the food we ordered later was excellent. We had a voucher kindly donated to us by a young couple in the afternoon so we got free fajitas!
Back to the hotel in preparation for our last drive to San Francisco via Napa and Sausalito.
