We rose early and got packed up and ready to leave.
Cilla took me to the 9.16 which got me to GCT in loads of time. I had a breakfast of coffee and croissant in Grand Central before walking to Penn Station. There was quite a lot of confusion as there were 3 trains all leaving at the same time all apparently going to Washington. The journey there was uneventful and I arrived around 3.30 and took a cab to the hotel. It was not in a particularly great area for sure but was perfectly clean and respectable inside. After grabbing a coffee from the MacDonalds across the road, I took a bath and then ventured out on the shuttle provided by the hotel. I found a reasonable pub and had a couple of beers and some wings for T before coming back to the hotel by cab.
