We had a leisurely start to Saturday.
We had our breakfast in the suite and then set off for a bit of sightseeing. I decided we could head down to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign but after a reasonable walk we figured we wouldn't get there. So we crossed the road and took photos of the Luxor and then ventured into the Mandalay Bay. We oo'd and ah'd at the casinos and the decor in these OTT hotels and then took the shuttle tram to the New York New York hotel. Outrageous decor in all of these - you do get a bit immune eventually. Massive halls of slot machines, the most extravagant surroundings, but smoking allowed which is not too pleasant, though I must say I didn't notice it too much in some of the areas.
We then wandered up to the Bellagio and arrived just as the fountains were on show with Elvis as the musical background - 'Viva Las Vegas'!
We had lunch at Bubba Gump which was very pleasant with an amazing view up the strip. We were close enough to the hotel to pop back and get ready for our trip to the Grand Canyon.
We were collected by Maverick Helicopters and taken the short trip to the heliport. There were 6 in our party on our 'copter and we got front row seats on the way out. Our pilot was called Joell. Many pictures and video clips taken en route and the trip was as amazing as anticipated. We landed in the Canyon and had champagne and nibbles before heading over to the Hoover Dam at sunset and then finally the strip once the sun had gone down.
We went back to the hotel and had a couple of beers before venturing back to Twin Peaks where we sat at the end of the bar and had wings and pickles before turning in.
