Day seventeen - homeward bound

The holiday was over.

Maurice had to take the car back and head to the airport at around 9.30 - holiday officially over.
I spent the rest of the day relaxing in the room which I had until 1pm. I went for a run around 11 and then investigated the free bikes but there wasn't one available and I wanted a bath before I checked out.

After my bath and final packing, I checked out and left my luggage for later.

I walked out to the shoreside path and spotted Maurice's plane which I then filmed taking off - in its entirety. That was him off home.

I had a Starbucks and a cereal bar before getting the shuttle to the airport.

Security and check in was very quick and I was soon ensconced  at the bar in the Firewood Grill where I had a few glasses of wine and a pizza. I chatted to a few other passengers who were getting the same flight. The plane parked right behind us!

Once on the plane I was seated next to an Irish girl who was very pleasant, watched the Hangover part 3 and also Identity Thief - both of which were a bit ridiculous, before dozing off.

Heathrow transfer was tedious, flight to Aberdeen uneventful, met by Maurice at the airport. Holiday officially over - a fantastic trip.
